Peringkat 1 : Chonnam National University

Chonnam National University (CNU) adalah sebuah universitas di Gwangju dan Provinsi Jeolla Selatan, Korea Selatan. Didirikan pada tahun 1952 sebagai universitas nasional unggulan untuk wilayah barat daya Korea Selatan. Pada bulan Maret 2006, Yeosu National University bergabung dengan Chonnam National University untuk menjadi kampus satelit. CNU berada di peringkat 10 nasional dan 420 dunia dalam peringkat universitas dunia di CWUR (Pusat Peringkat Universitas Dunia).

CNU sekarang menawarkan bidang utama studi akademik dengan 16 perguruan tinggi dan 11 sekolah pascasarjana. Peringkat 2 : Chosun University

Chosun University didirikan oleh Asosiasi Pendiri Chosun College. Asosiasi ini dibentuk pada Mei 1946, dan dengan cepat memperoleh anggota di seluruh provinsi Chungcheong, Jeolla, dan Jeju. Menurut situs web sekolah, keanggotaan meningkat menjadi lebih dari 72.000 pada akhir tahun 1947. Kelas pertama sekolah tersebut, yang kemudian disebut Akademi Malam Kwangju, diadakan pada tanggal 29 September 1946. Tak lama kemudian diubah namanya menjadi Akademi Chosun, dan menjadi sebuah perguruan tinggi pada tahun 1948. Sekolah ini menjadi universitas pada awal tahun ajaran 1953, di waktu yang sama saat sekolah pascasarjana juga didirikan.
